General Rules
The goal is to have a hand value closer to 21 than the dealer without exceeding 21.
Card Values
Number cards (2-10) are worth their face value.
Face cards (Jack, Queen, King) are worth 10.
Aces can be worth 1 or 11, depending on which value benefits the hand more.
Gameplay
Initial Deal: Each player is dealt two cards, and the dealer also gets two cards (one face up, one face down).
Player Options
Hit: Take another card.
Stand: Keep your current hand.
Double Down: Double your bet and receive one more card.
Split: If your initial two cards are of the same value, you can split them into two separate hands (requires an additional bet).
Surrender: Forfeit half your bet and end your participation in the round.
Dealer's Turn: The dealer reveals their face-down card and must hit until their hand totals 17 or higher.
Winning
If your hand value is closer to 21 than the dealer's without exceeding 21, you win.
If your hand exceeds 21, you bust and lose.
If the dealer busts, all remaining players win.
A Blackjack (Ace + 10-value card) pays 3:2.
Versions of the game include that the dealer follows specific rules when drawing cards:
They draw cards until they reach a total of 16 and then stand on any total of 17 or higher, including soft 17 (a hand with an Ace and a card or cards totaling 6).
If the dealer has a soft 17, they continue to draw cards until they have a hard 17 or higher.
Some versions will stand on a soft 17.

If your initial two cards have the same value, you have the option to split them into two separate hands by placing an equal second bet.
Each hand will receive additional cards.
Folding Option:
-
- If you prefer not to split, you can choose to fold.
- By folding, your bet will be returned to you with a deduction of 20%.
- You will be out of the current game round.
Splitting Rules:
-
- Only one split action is allowed per seat.
- Splitting a split hand is not permitted.
Drawing Cards:
-
- On each split hand, you can draw as many cards as you like.
- Exception: When splitting two Aces, you receive only one additional card for each Ace.
Special Cases:
-
- If you receive an Ace and a ten-value card in a split hand, it is considered 21 and not Blackjack.
- Payout for this hand is 1:1 instead of the usual 3:2.
If table rules allow
- Double Your Bet: You can choose to double your original bet amount. In return, you will receive one additional card.
-
Doubling After Splitting: You also have the option to double down after splitting your hand.
Outcomes:
Dealer's First Card is an Ace: If the dealer's first card is an Ace and they get a Blackjack, you lose both your original and double bets.
Dealer's First Card is a 10: If the dealer's first card is a 10 and they get a Blackjack, your double bet is returned to you.
Example:
-
- Original Bet: $10
- Double Bet: $10 (doubling the original bet)
- Total Bet: $20
- Outcome if Dealer Has Blackjack with an Ace: Lose $20
- Outcome if Dealer Has Blackjack with a 10: Original bet lost, double bet returned
In the game of Blackjack, if the dealer's initial card is an Ace, you have the option to take insurance. This is a side bet that protects you against the dealer having a Blackjack.
How to Take Insurance: (If table rules allow)
Place Your Bet: When the dealer's face-up card is an Ace, you can choose to place an insurance bet. This bet is equal to half of your original bet.
Outcome of the Insurance Bet:
-
- Dealer Has Blackjack: If the dealer's hidden card is a 10, making a Blackjack, you win the insurance bet. The payout for the insurance bet is 2 to 1.
- Dealer Does Not Have Blackjack: If the dealer does not have a Blackjack, you lose the insurance bet, but the game continues with your original bet.
Example:
-
- Original Bet: $10
- Insurance Bet: $5 (half of the original bet)
- Payout if Dealer Has Blackjack: $10 (2 to 1 on the $5 insurance bet)
- Loss if Dealer Does Not Have Blackjack: $5 (insurance bet)
There is a unique possibility of drawing 10 cards without exceeding a total of 21. Achieving this results in an automatic win for your hand.
How It Works:
Drawing 10 Cards: If you manage to draw 10 cards without busting (exceeding a total of 21), you automatically win the hand.
Condition: This automatic win only applies if the dealer does not have a Blackjack.
Example:
-
- Your Hand: 10 cards totaling 21 or less
- Dealer's Hand: No Blackjack
- Outcome: Automatic win for your hand
